The mayor of Olbia has issued an ordinance aimed at preventing the spread of the Nile Fever virus in the city.

In the document signed by Settimo Nizzi some initiatives aimed at the population and some categories of people most exposed to the risk of contagion.

In particular, it is ordered that objects and containers of any nature and size (tires, bottles, cans, bins, jars, saucers, etc.) in which stagnant rainwater can collect as a potential location are not abandoned in public and private open spaces . development of mosquito larvae; again, to proceed, in the case of containers or tanks that have not been abandoned, to close them with lids or sheets and, if this is not possible, to favor the regular exchange of water or the weekly emptying to avoid the development of outbreaks of mosquito larvae in the stagnant water.

The first citizen also has to empty the fountains and swimming pools that are not in operation or to avoid the stagnation of water; to keep the courtyards and open areas clear of weeds, brushwood and waste of all kinds, and arrange them in such a way as to avoid stagnation of rainwater or any other source; to arrange, in case of construction site activities or in similar cases, to arrange the soil in order to avoid water collection.

Finally, the mayor recommends that citizens use insecticides and skin repellents and, outdoors, wear light-colored clothing that covers most of the body .
