First meeting of the permanent technical-political committee for the implementation of measures to improve the noise climate in areas of Cagliari affected by nightlife-induced noise.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Massimo Zedda and Deputy Mayor Maria Cristina Mancini, Councilor for Strategic, Urban, and Environmental Planning Matteo Lecis Cocco Ortu, Councilor for Economic Development Carlo Serra, and the local police. Also present, along with trade associations for retailers and restaurant operators and neighborhood committees, were representatives of the various competent bodies and administrations—including the Region, Metropolitan City, and Arpas—involved in the implementation of the Noise Abatement Plan and related measures.
The mayor believes the ongoing sharing process is crucial. Councilor Lecis Cocco Ortu will review the process that led to the Plan's final approval, outline the main noise abatement measures planned, and outline the strategic value of the instrument for urban quality and citizen health.
Councilor Serra reiterated the city administration's commitment to reconciling quality of life with economic growth by promoting responsible behavior, coordinated controls, and shared prevention tools.
The various interventions helped outline the main critical issues, needs, and operational proposals, which will be explored and developed in the short and medium term during upcoming meetings.
