From 6 pm today and for 24 hours, Sardinia has been affected by a weather alert characterized by isolated and scattered precipitations, even downpours or thunderstorms, and with snow above 900 metres.

The accumulations on the ground , informs the Region, will locally exceed 40 centimeters .

While tomorrow, Wednesday 25 January, the weather alert with yellow code (ordinary criticality) issued by the decentralized functional center of Civil Protection regarding Gallura lasts until 11.59 pm .

The area is affected by hydraulic risk .

"In the presence of thunderstorms - recalls the Region - it is advisable to stay in your own homes, if you are in a basement or on the ground floor, go up to the upper floors, limit car transfers to emergencies only, keep yourself informed on the evolution of the phenomena, on the measures to be adopted, on the procedures to be followed indicated by the territorial civil protection structures; moreover, it is prohibited to cross flooded streams both on foot and by any means, to stop near bridges and banks of streams and/or rivers and to cross underpasses".
