"The answer is no. There have been no discussions with the Region or with the University on the program agreement envisaged by article 11 of the Region's stability law». That is the one on which depend, among other things, the 50 million that the Region should make available to the Municipality for the new Cagliari stadium. The approval dates back to more than a month ago ( HERE THE DETAILS ).
The stalemate on the controversial affair emerged at Palazzo Bacaredda from the declarations of the councilor for urban planning, Giorgio Angius, in response to a question from Matteo Massa (Progressives).
The exponent of the opposition asked for information on the ERSU project for the construction of a new student house in the dirt road of via Trentino. A work that has also been included in the law that provides for the Municipality-Region agreement for the stadium, new hospital and other major works that should (in part) redesign the city.
«Have the owners of the land on which the student residence is to be built been contacted? Should new commercial spaces also be built? What does the city administration know about the project? Have the residents been consulted?»: these, in summary, are the questions posed by Massa, who has always raised more than one perplexity about that plan of the Cagliari institution for the right to study.
Angius tried to dispel the shadows: «The intervention is being re-planned», he said in the courtroom, «we will evaluate it when it is submitted to us. And we will also hear the committees of the residents of the area ». In short, in the Municipality, officially, there is no trace of plans for new ERSU student residences. Even if the institution has already shown the renderings of what should arise: withdrawn, according to what was reported by the deputy mayor, who added: "The PUC, however, allows the construction of student houses in that area".
Massa replied, with little satisfaction: " There are no projects here, but the Region has asked for funds from the Pnrr to carry out that work. Maybe we're the only ones who don't know about it."
Meanwhile, the lack of discussion on the program agreement which also contains the money for the stadium has faded into the background: if there is no document, according to the wording of the law that has made the center-right majority dance, they could also the 50 million. Those of the Region, at least. It is not excluded that the mayor Paolo Truzzu will find the funds elsewhere, thanks to the good relations with the government of Giorgia Meloni. Perhaps better than those with Villa Devoto.
