A 73-year-old pensioner fell from a ladder while picking olives. The accident occurred around noon today in the countryside of Su Pirastu Ladu, in the Girasole area.

The man was on a two-meter-high ladder when it suddenly slipped, causing him to fall to the ground. The pensioner was knocked unconscious on impact. The intervention of his wife, who was nearby and raised the alarm, was crucial. An ambulance from the Le Grazie volunteer association in Tortolì, along with emergency personnel, arrived on the scene within minutes.

When they arrived, the man had already regained consciousness and, although in pain, was able to cooperate with the rescuers.

Given the circumstances of the fall and the head trauma sustained, the operations center ordered the intervention of the Areus Echo Lima 1 helicopter. The farmer was stabilized and subsequently transported to San Francesco Hospital in Nuoro for further evaluation. His condition is currently being assessed.
