"We've been inundated with tourists. And this was thanks to the beauty of our area and the many events organized from May to September." The managers of Cabras' accommodation facilities have just closed the budget for summer 2026. The result, for everyone, is a positive sign compared to last year. And now they're thinking about a new mission: trying to attract visitors throughout the rest of the year as well.
Growing Numbers From the “Sa Pedrera” hotel, along the provincial road from Cabras to the Sinis coast, owner Carlo Picconi speaks: “ The results are more than positive ; we've worked better than last year. But that's how it has to be. If the quality of services and events organized by the Municipality and the Mont'e Prama Foundation improves, we can only welcome more tourists.” Picconi reflects on the long-standing complaints, now long gone: “During the entire season, no one has ever complained about paying for parking just a few meters from the sea. Tourists come here because they love the unspoiled coastline, the slow pace, and also the hospitality. In my hotel, 60% of guests were foreigners, 40% Italian. However, we must try not to let the season end, to work every month. Maybe not like in July and August, but always remain active.”
Rosalba Loi , owner of Torremana, also doesn't hide the importance of some of the events organized during the summer in the area: "We've hosted many foreigners even in high season, despite the high temperatures. The feedback for the very well-organized bottarga festival has been decidedly positive." Davide Atzori, one of the owners of Dimora Ferraris: "We're very satisfied. Our customers love discovering the beauty of the area. We've worked well with Italians and foreigners. Perhaps transportation and public transport to the beaches should be improved." The new opening There are also those who risked not ending the season on a positive note. This is the case of Carlotta Musa, owner of Musa Domus Fainas.
She opened her guesthouse in mid-July : "About 85% of our guests were Sardinian," she says, "but I think this is only due to the recent opening. Those arriving from outside Sardinia tend to plan their holidays well in advance, especially to keep transportation costs down. So I can't complain. Many guests chose Cabras to participate in the summer events, which, on several occasions, sold out. Guests appreciated the opportunity to stroll through the town center streets in the evening, free from cars thanks to the summer pedestrianization. The rich calendar of events also demonstrated how attractive Cabras can be beyond beach tourism and how important it would be to extend these initiatives beyond the summer season."
