New hospital and stadium of Cagliari, crossed destinies: it is a clash in the Municipality and in the Regional Council
The opposition at Palazzo Bacaredda: "Away the plant from the program agreement or it is at risk." Solinas: «We will do it, but we also need health facilities worthy of the name»“I want to leave four hospitals worthy of the name to the Sardinians”. And also: «Thanks to Claudio Ranieri and his boys, who gave Serie A to Sardinia. Sardinia will give them a new stadium». Health and sport (seen from the urban point of view) are connected in the plans of the president of the Region Christian Solinas. He also reiterated it in the interview released today to the microphones of Videolina.
After the resolution, and the consequent controversies ( HERE THE NEWS ), the governor announced that he will go ahead with the construction of the four new health structures that will have to be built in Cagliari, Alghero, in the Sulcis Iglesiente area and in Sassari. With the closure of the old ones. And among these there are also Brotzu and Oncology.
Solinas also sent out a signal on the stadium and its construction: the Region must put 50 million euros on the plate. But it linked the funding to the signing of a program agreement with the Municipality of Cagliari. Inside there are: stadium, new hospital in the capital, a student house in via Trentino and regional offices in the spaces of the former Meloni stabling in viale Trieste.
And it is on this pact, included in the budget law, therefore required by law, that the opposition goes on the attack. In the regional council ( HERE THE NEWS ) but also at Palazzo Bacaredda.
The centre-left of Cagliari's municipal assembly has filed an agenda (which could be discussed as early as next Tuesday) to ask for the abrogation of the part of the rule that imposes the program agreement.
The deed, reads the document that has Matteo Massa (Progressisti) as the first signatory, " complicates the achievement of the goal of building the stadium in Sant'Elia on a bureaucratic and political level". For this reason, the Municipality will have to invite the president of the Region "to repeal article 11 of the Finance law and to establish a loan of 50 million explicitly destined for the construction of the new stadium in Sant'Elia, according to the standards established for international competitions" . A similar request was filed in the regional council, as an amendment to the related to the Budget.
Only yesterday mayor Paolo Truzzu had declared: "Without money on the stadium we are at a standstill".
The services conference is on July 3: the match has just begun.
