News coming to the social sector in Neoneli.

The Social Welfare Plan is in fact enriched with three new actions. F or families who have young children, for the first three years, the Municipality has thought of a bonus of 50 euros per month for the purchase of wipes and diapers (expected expenditure of 4,800 euros per year from budget funds for approximately 8 beneficiaries).

The municipal administration then thought of a measure aimed at supporting girls and women aged between 12 and 55: a monthly contribution of 10 euros will be paid for the purchase of sanitary pads (expected expenditure 10,920 euros up to end of the year from budget funds, for approximately 130 beneficiaries).

9,360 euros are also planned for elderly people in residential facilities.

With the introduction of these new actions, the overall social investment amounts to approximately 400 thousand euros of which: 280 thousand from regional transfers, 12,250 euros from user contributions and 107,730 from the Municipality of Neoneli's own funds.

"We are experiencing a particular moment where various essential services such as public health are disappearing, and the economic crisis is increasingly gripping families who, with ever greater difficulty, are not always able to make ends meet their monthly budget ", underlines the mayor Salvatore Cau . He adds: «Furthermore, we believe it is a gesture of great civility, in deference to the female condition, to contribute to an expense that we men do not have, which is why we have introduced the novelty of the tampon purchase bonus. The hope is that all other administrations will follow this example to consolidate a small amount of attention towards the female universe which is not so small after all."
