Foods lacking traceability and failure to follow slaughter procedures for some products : this is what the NAS Carabinieri discovered during some checks at the Festival dell'Oriente, which took place in recent days at the Cagliari Fair.
The violations occurred at the stand of a catering company based in the province of Milan, managed by a 46-year-old woman of Romanian origin, resulting in administrative fines of 3,500 euros , along with the seizure of approximately 40 kilograms of meat and fish products, which were subsequently destined for destruction.
A similar violation —according to a Carabinieri statement—was found at another stand belonging to a small business in the Milanese hinterland, run by a 61-year-old woman of Indian origin , where unfrozen food was being stored. In this case, fines reached €2,000 , with the seizure and destruction of approximately 15 kilograms of meat.
The Administrative Authority was also informed for the relevant measures.
In the coming months, the Carabinieri will continue to rigorously monitor the fairs, festivals, and events that characterize Sardinia's autumn calendar.
