Napoli fans unleashed in the streets of Cagliari, the case ends in the Chamber
Cappellacci (Fi): "Beaten shepherds and pampered Napoli ultras?"
"The Sardinian shepherds who defended their work were beaten with batons in Civitavecchia, the ultras of Naples, on the other hand, can stage an unauthorized procession in the heart of Cagliari: what is the yardstick by which public order is managed?".
Thus Ugo Cappellacci, deputy and regional coordinator of Forza Italy-Sardinia, who communicated, in a note, the presentation of a question to the Minister of the Interior about the events that occurred yesterday in the Sardinian capital on the sidelines of the Cagliari-Naples meeting.
"The memory of the slaughter of batons on demonstrators protesting against the landing of Campania waste at the canal port is still alive in the city - explains Cappellacci -: then there was not so much 'delicacy' ...".
"The Police Headquarters declares that the Neapolitans were allowed to do what they wanted because 'in this way a guerrilla was avoided' - continues Cappellacci -: not only the guerrillas then occurred a few hours later, but the risk of bring it into the city center, with unpredictable consequences. This line has also put the police themselves in grave danger ”.
"The parade - continues Cappellacci - is even more intolerable because it took place while the whole world bears the social and economic weight of the restrictions due to Covid. In recent years we have seen stinging checks, runners chased along a beach, a previous surveillance that seems apply to everyone, but evidently saw an exception for Napoli supporters ".
UNLEASHED FANS - Yesterday, to make fear the worst, the provocative procession in the center by three hundred Neapolitan fans dressed in black and hooded, as if they were part of a squadron of sad memory, which was followed by a failed raid for a short time at the headquarters de L'Unione Sarda and the clashes at the end of the match with the Sconvolts, with the toll of one arrested, three reported and at least seven injured among the police.
"Forcing them by force to get on the buses would have meant having to unleash an urban warfare in the center", commented the commissioner Paolo Rossi late at night .
In the early afternoon the ultras arrived at the airport and then reached the Santa Gilla station, refusing to board the buses to Unipol Domus. Then the police escorted them to the stadium and along the way they chanted chants against the city and against the opposing fans.
The group of over 200 people arrived at Unipol Domus around 3.30 pm. A few minutes before the end of the match, from outside the stadium, other Cagliari fans started throwing first smoke bombs and firecrackers and then stones and bottles at the host curve. Police were forced into some lightening charges and officers became the new target of throwing objects. The police managed to repel the fans, who wanted to get in touch with the Neapolitans.
THE OTHER REACTIONS - Even the deputy of FdI, Salvatore Deidda, has already announced that he is ready to ask the Minister of the Interior for an answer and “convincing explanations for this very serious organizational flaw. I find no justification for what happened in Cagliari, before the match: fans of the Neapolitan team authorized to parade throughout the city, up to the stadium ".
The comment of Fabrizio Marcello, municipal councilor of the Democratic Party, also harsh: “First the clashes, the insults to the Sardinians and Cagliari, then the attempt to slip into the headquarters of the Sardinian Union creating panic. And what do you do? We give him the opportunity to cross the city and arrive in via Roma. What happened to security? This is an outrage against the city, it is mocking the city ”.
