Passengers on the Easyjet Naples-Cagliari flight canceled yesterday, Sunday 18 June, will be reimbursed for the expenses incurred for the return journey to Sardinia.

The low-cost airline also assured that it had communicated to the passengers affected by the cancellations the possibility of exercising the flight refund or rerouting options. This was communicated by the regional councilor for transport, Antonio Moro.

«The mix-up that caused important and serious inconvenience for numerous Sardinian passengers – explains the exponent of the Giunta Solinas – was caused, according to reports from the airline, by a delay accumulated by the scheduled flight between Naples and Ibiza which was able to land in Spanish airport several hours late and only after a long layover at the Palma de Mallorca airport, due to the sudden closure of the Ibiza airport. The accumulated delay pushed the crew to the maximum flight hours allowed by law, thus preventing the continuation of operations for Cagliari. Added to this are the difficulties which led to further Easyjet cancellations due to the bad weather which affected England".

As for the flights in territorial continuity departing from Rome and scheduled today, the Transport councilor informs us, «the critical issues for the Ita connections to Cagliari are confirmed, while there are availability both on flights to Olbia, with Aeroitalia and Volotea, and on those for Alghero, with Aeroitalia».

"In any case, I regret the inconvenience suffered by Sardinian travelers - to whom I apologize, although I do not reveal the direct responsibility of the regional administration - who, as is known, see penalties amplified and costs increased, both in terms economic and timing, whenever unforeseen events or causes of force majeure prevent the correct and planned operation of air connections», concludes councilor Moro.
