The barriers that have been marking out dangerous stretches of road along Via Roma in Muravera for over three years will disappear.
The municipal council, chaired by Salvatore Piu, has approved a €16,500 project to restore smooth asphalt to those sections and, at the same time, remove the remains of the pine trees cut down at the beginning of the current legislature (i.e., the base of the trunks, which were, in fact, cordoned off and have remained so to this day).
"The intent," the City Council resolution states, "is to eliminate potential dangers to people and property arising from the deformed road surface near parking lots."
The work will involve the stretch of Via Roma with the Vico III intersection, Via Roma 230, Via Roma 196, and the section in front of the Q8 petrol station. This is a matter of both safety and decorum. Meanwhile, the Municipality itself is awaiting intervention from the Metropolitan City of Cagliari (which is responsible for Via Roma, formerly the State Road 125): in early 2025, five hundred thousand euros have been allocated for the complete resurfacing of the road. The work will cover approximately two kilometers of road, from one side of the town to the other. Nearly a year later, however, nothing has changed.
