A cascade of data and numbers. Funding for approved projects and spending in various sectors. This morning the mayor of Sassari Nanni Campus illustrated the results of the mid-term, which began in July 2019 and also continued with some political shock that led to the majority of the Cinquestelle entering the place of the councilors who were put out.

And in fact at his side was the President of the City Council Maurilio Murru who pitted the data of the sessions and the council activity.

The funding obtained by the Municipality of Sassari is close to 94 million euros. Almost half are destined for urban redevelopment, almost all thanks to the NRP. They concern the National Innovative Program for the Quality of Living (Pinqua) which relate to the historic center and the populous district of Sweet Milk, plus the recovery of the entire area of the former rural colony.

There was no lack of jabs from the previous administration: “The deficit was reduced from 25 to 10 million, we recovered 2 million euros of unused funds and one million unpaid royalties. This allowed Sassari to rank in 2nd place in Italy in terms of spending capacity of financial resources ”.

Where it was possible, the Giunta Campus then carried out remodeling of previously financed projects (such as the Civic Market), or rejected it in its entirety, such as the variant number 8 which allowed the large shopping centers of Predda Niedda to have cinemas, theaters, clinics and conference rooms: “It would have been a fatal blow to the city's economy, making Predda Niedda an autonomous city in competition with the whole compact city”.

Campus also spoke about screening and vaccinations. “We are ready for sample screening and I am in favor of postponing the return to school. Indeed, I say that two days are not enough and it would be advisable to take a few more days and maybe postpone the return to school for a week ".

The contagion situation is defined as "worrying" by the mayor, who is also a doctor. “The Omicron variant is transmitted in a third of the time and by now in the province, including Gallura, we are 68% among the positives. And we are talking about perhaps a third of the real data ”. For Campus we are close to the crisis: “We have accommodated the patients, both in intensive care and ordinary, but there are still 25 patients who have to find a place. The majority of hospitalized people are over 50 who are not vaccinated, while those who had two doses of vaccine are people over 50 with other diseases ".

Screening is therefore welcome, but with a warning: "I asked the Assl that there are no slowdowns in vaccination activity, because it is not good if the vaccines that remain the main road slow down to do the screening".
