He ended up under house arrest in August 2016 on charges of embezzlement and, since then, Franco Zene , 40, has been suspended from his position as manager of the Municipality of Sennori .

In the trial that concerns him, underway in Sassari, the prosecutor Mario Leo asked for the acquittal of the municipal manager , on the basis of the elements that emerged during the trial. The trial is underway in front of the college, chaired by the magistrate Gian Cosimo Mura. Leo has ruled out that there is evidence of conduct attributed to Zene.

The complaint against the municipal manager is that of having unduly cashed in the sums that would have been obtained by "inflating" his paycheck.

But during the trial, a new circumstance emerged, reported by Zene's defenders, the criminal prosecutors Nino Cuccureddu and Pierino Arru. The software used for the preparation of payslips had a problem that was solved with a sort of compensation on the amounts paid incorrectly . The sentence is expected on November 9th.
