Sardinian journalism mourns Giampaolo Murgia , one of the best-known sports reporters on the island. He was 83 years old and had been ill for some time .

Murgia was one of the journalists who had the privilege of reporting on Gigi Riva's Cagliari epic . As correspondent for Corriere dello Sport for Sardinia , he followed the adventures of the rossoblù team for decades and was a guide for many young colleagues who tried their hand at the art of describing football and sport.

After retirement and widowed, he returned to his Iglesias, where he continued to cultivate his passions, art, books and music of all kinds, especially the classical one, of which he was a profound connoisseur.
