Tomaso Cocco remains in prison. Gabriella Murgia goes under house arrest. This is what was decided by the Court of Review of Cagliari, presided over by judge Lucia Perra, who expressed his opinion on the requests for release presented by the lawyers of the head of the pain therapy department before Binaghi and now at Marino (Rosaria Manconi and Erika Dessì), and by colleagues who defend the former regional councilor for Agriculture (Enrico Meloni and Carlo Figus).

The doctor and the former representative of the Solinas council had been arrested as part of the Monte Nuovo investigation, conducted by the ROS carabinieri coordinated by the DDA: 31 members of an alleged criminal group that united white collar workers and historic exponents of banditry in the Nuoro area were involved. The alleged crimes ranged from mafia association to drug trafficking, to embezzlement and abuse of office.

The handcuffs were placed on September 27th: since then Murgia and Cocco have been in Uta prison.

The house arrest orders against two other defendants were also canceled today: Marco Zanardi and Antonio Michele Pinna.
