In 2019, at the presentation of the work, it was announced that the work would be completed within two years. Now, however, four years after what was defined as the construction of the "local school" of Mogoro , it already appears to be unfinished. The sight that appears near the construction site outside the former institute for accountants is not very pleasant.

The presence of the contractor company has not been seen for some time and neglect reigns all around. Along with building materials, scaffolding and construction nets, there are piles of earth, debris, dirt and weeds, which certainly don't give a good image . The project was born   as part of Iscol@, the extraordinary plan for school buildings promoted by the Region, with the Municipalities of the Montis Union, who had decided to develop together a development project focused on education, culture and knowledge. The investment, which includes the thermal bill, amounts to over 6 million euros and the works for the new school center were to be completed, as mentioned, by 2021.

Mayor Donato Cau, elected at the end of 2020, found himself with a big problem to solve. «It is a situation that is now going beyond the limits of decency», admits the mayor, «I believe it is appropriate that all the bodies involved do their utmost to ensure that the situation can be resolved in the shortest possible time. This inaction", underlines Cau, "does nothing but damage the interests of the country and the territory",

The president of the Union of Municipalities Parte Mointis and mayor of Pompu Moreno Atzeni, explains the reason for this situation . «The works are delayed due to all the problems we know well», highlights Atzei, «with Covid which blocked everything from March 2020 to September 2022. We must then consider the increase in prices with the national legislation which provides, from January 2021, the need for their adjustment which entailed the review of the project which is still underway. We then add the difficulty of the entire construction sector in finding workers."

For the same project, the president specifies, «works have resumed in Masullas in continuity with the price review, and will soon resume in Gonnostramatza to complete this structure in the shortest possible time».

In short, in Mogoro, we will have to wait to have the school of excellence dreamed of by the area serving a population of around 7000 inhabitants, in the municipalities of Mogoro, Masullas, Pompu Gonnostramatza and Simala .
