Great party in the "Zia Lica" facility for the elderly, in Mogoro , for the 100th birthday of Mrs. Giovanna Maria Masia . In addition to the affection of her family, the municipal council of Mogoro and that of Romana, the town where she was born on 15 June 1923, were also present.

Giovanna Maria Masia moved to Marmilla after marrying Giovanni Atzeni in 1947, with whom she had 7 sons (Gigi, Benigno, Carlo, Franco, Tonino, Enrico and Tore). Family which then further expanded with 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, while 2 more are on the way. Signora Masia has always worked as a housewife, taking care of the education of the children and the house, while her husband worked outside as a bricklayer . «A woman – comments Tore, one of the sons – who has always thought of her family and grandchildren as long as she could. Very religious, she has always been a strong woman."

The celebrations took place inside the "Zia Lica" structure, with the Holy Mass and the presence of the administrators of Mogoro, led by the mayor Donato Cau, and Romana, with the presence of the mayor Lucia Catte.

Mrs. Masia is not the only centenarian guest of the house. In fact, on 13 May Giustina Maccioni was celebrated for the same goal. Mother of 6 children, with 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, Mrs. Maccioni is related by a family relationship with Giovanna Maria Masia. They are sisters-in-law: Mrs. Maccioni is married to Vittorio Atzeni, brother of Giovanni, husband of Mrs. Masia.
