The community of Mogorella mourns the passing of its centenary. In recent days, in fact, Mr. Carmelino Cotza passed away, who just over 20 days ago had celebrated his century of life. “Tziu Carmelino” has always occupied a central role in the life of the community.

In the past he had opened the bar located in front of the Piazza Mercato, along the main street of the village. He was also a farmer and until 7 years ago he took care of his little garden not far from home. He was passionate about poetry, an accordion player and a “cantadore”.

"He leaves us - comments Mayor Lorenzo Carcangiu - not even a month after celebrating his hundredth birthday. He was a person of great culture, one of the true historical memories of the community. I am very saddened and close to the family, especially to his eldest son, Mimmo, who shared his life path for a long time".
