The mistral caused significant damage in Sardinia, where gusts blew at over 100 km/h, from north to south.
In Sassari, the wind knocked down the Christmas tree set up in Piazza Castello and damaged the roof of the gymnasium of a primary school.
In the Oristano area, over twenty interventions were carried out by the Fire Department: five teams were involved, from the central and the Abbasanta, Ales and Cuglieri detachments. Fallen trees were recorded in Abbasanta and Arborea, where traffic was interrupted on the 20 West road.
Christmas decorations were also ruined in Carbonia: in via Manno two stalls of the holiday market were demolished.
In Porto Torres, in addition to the inconvenience in the city centre, the Moby Ale Due ship coming from Genoa had to change course and head for Olbia .
Damage also occurred in the Nuoro area: in Orotelli a sheet metal roof was uprooted and damaged parked cars.
