Villa Tonya was seized in 2015 , at the request of the DDA of Naples which had been investigating for some time about sixty people (including tax judges and public officials) suspected of being Camorra.

Now the residence of Cala Granu, on the Costa Smeralda, in the name of an entrepreneur, is at the center of a file by the Prosecutor of Tempio for the crime of embezzlement. According to prosecutor Mauro Lavra, in fact, an auxiliary of the judicial administrator of the property (a 54-year-old from Campania, residing in Arzachena) instead of paying the money (rental fees for the villa) to the account indicated by the Court of Naples, diverted them on prepaid cards and bank deposits made out to him.

There is talk of tens of thousands of euros stolen from the judicial administration between 2015 and 2018. The investigations were conducted by the Guardia di Finanza of Olbia, the military, coordinated by Captain Carlo Lazzari, operated on the basis of a report from the DDA of Naples.

The man under investigation, defended by the lawyer Christian Cicoria, rejects all the accusations. The investigations also show that representatives of the police forces and VIPs have stayed at a negligible cost in some impounded real estate units connected to Villa Tonya.
