The assize court of appeal of Cagliari fully accepted the requests of the attorney general Luigi Patronaggio , reiterating life imprisonment for Masih Shahid , the 31-year-old Pakistani accused of the murder of Mirko Farci , the 20-year-old boy killed in Tortolì while was trying to defend his mother on May 11, 2021.

The accused was present in the courtroom today for the reading of the sentence.

The extra three months of daytime isolation resulted from a continuation count for a complaint of mistreatment in the family towards his partner , a crime for which he was sentenced to three years in first instance.

Throughout the morning, the prosecution, civil parties and defense exchanged arguments and replies.

Then the court presided over by judge Massimo Costantino Poddighe retired to the council chamber to decide.

Defending the accused, self-confessed , was the lawyer Federico Delitala, while the civil parties were made up of the lawyers Maurizio Corda, Marcello Caddori and Maurizio Mereu.
