"Life sentence with day solitary confinement for four months" . The Assizes Court of Cagliari sentenced Shahid Masih to the maximum sentence, accused of the attempted murder of his ex-partner, Paola Piras, and of the murder of her son, Mirko Farci, 19, who had tried to defend her from the assault that took place on May 11, 2021 in Tortolì .
At the end of a closed session that lasted just over two and a half hours, the judges considered that the defendant, defended by the lawyer Federico Delitala, had committed a premeditated murder, but they dropped the aggravating circumstance of the ill-treatment that had been contested by pm Giovanna Morra .

Paola Piras was in the courtroom listening to the sentence, supported by an entire family who did not want to comment . The civil party lawyers Maurizio Corda, Marcello Caddori, Maurizio Mereu and Paolo Pialia are satisfied.

Surprisingly, the young woman also spoke in the courtroom today, it was the President of the Court Giovanni Massidda who solicited her testimony, asking her if she remembered anything from that day.

Nothing: protected by a booth so that she didn't cross her attacker, Paola Piras said she forgot everything. « My memories stop at least six months before - he reported - I'm missing six months of memories, I think it's the trauma that makes me forget. I couldn't bear it otherwise .'

After speaking she was taken away in tears , when the civil party lawyers Paolo Pilia, Marcello Caddori, Maurizio Corda and Maurizio Mereu were replying. Lastly, defender Federico Delitala reiterated that - despite all the seriousness of the crimes committed - it would not in any case be a matter of premeditated murder , at least against the young victim, asking the judges not to pronounce a sentence of life imprisonment, which it had instead been solicited by the prosecutor.
