Asl of Cagliari and the Brotzu leaders are holding back on the transfer of the management of the Microcitemico from one company to the other. The delays in the reporting of CT scans on children with cancer reported by their parents? A mistake for which disciplinary measures have been adopted: the general manager of the Asl Marcello Tidore says so. The passage under the control of Arnas? It would be an "unsustainable" burden for the structure of piazzale Ricchi: this is the thesis of the top management of the piazzale Ricchi company. And if there have been inefficiencies, according to the regional councilor for health Mario Nieddu, "they are attributable to a temporary stalemate linked to an overall reorganization of the structures".

These are the answers provided by the leaders of the Sardinian and Cagliari health care, during the hearing convened in the Health Commission of the regional council to deal with the emergency reported by the parents of the young patients of the Cao hospital . The most critical situation, according to letters and complaints (also sent to the Prosecutor's Office), is recorded in Pediatric Oncohematology.

A bill has arrived in committee, first signatory Francesco Agus (Progressives) which provides for the return of the Microcitemico under the control of Brotzu. But the managers of the health companies have thrown water on the fire and defended the status quo.

The director of ASL 8, after having illustrated the important activities of the hospital, informed the commission on the taking of disciplinary measures for the delays in reporting the CT scans and highlighted "how, the staff serving at the Microcitemico, have expressed their will to remain incardinated in ASL 8, as certified by the documents of the trade union representatives ".

"I do not see any critical issues in maintaining the" Cao "in Asl 8", said Nieddu, who with reference to the pediatric Oncohematology department did not deny the occurrence, even in the recent past, of possible inconveniences or inefficiencies, leading them however "to a stalemate temporary, linked to an overall reorganization of the structures ".

Agnese Foddis presented herself with Ennio Filigheddu (administrative director) and Raimondo Pinna (medical director). They underlined the full collaboration with the pediatric departments of the Microcitemico, highlighting the shortage of pediatric anesthetists ("full-time we only count one") and affirming (also requested by the interventions of numerous advisers from the majority and the opposition) that the provision of services to small patients would not change from a possible return to the Brotzu of the Microcitemico.

"It should be added", concluded the hospital management, "that taking charge of the“ A.Cao ”unit would entail an organizational and logistical burden that is currently unsustainable”.

In conclusion, the manager Agnese Foddis stressed that she deferred to the decisions of the regional council on the matter, for the sake of the young patients.
