Metal detectors and clandestine excavation tools seized in Sardinia

Ten metal detectors and two clandestine excavation tools were seized by the carabinieri of the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit of Cagliari.

The objects were recovered by the military during checks carried out in the Campidano area as part of the verification of the illegally stolen archaeological heritage. The operations were carried out together with colleagues from the stations of Sanluri, Villanovafranca, Pula and Oristano.

The positions of the owners of the tools are being examined by the investigators.
