There is open war, with no respite on the horizon, between the Region and the F2i fund on the hypothesis of a merger of the management companies of the Olbia and Alghero airports (respectively, Geasar and Sogeaal): the videoconference meeting wanted by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Galeazzo Bignami, summoned to trace the path of dialogue between the parties, ended with nothing.

The representatives of the fund headed by Cassa depositi e prestiti, owner of the majority of the shares of the two airport companies, confirmed that on 29 May the Boards of Directors will proceed to vote for the birth of the new Nord Sardegna Aeroporti structure. Despite ENAC's contrary opinion, which rejected the operation.

A position that fueled tensions during the meeting and triggered the reactions of those present on behalf of the Region, namely the president Christian Solinas and the councilor for transport, Antonio Moro.

«When you want to profitably resume a dialogue, it is good practice to clear the field of urgent deadlines within which decisions must be taken. Otherwise, the scope, quality and outcomes of the comparison are already compromised from the outset», said Solinas. The governor has urged the opening of an immediate political confrontation. But F2i has raised a wall by confirming the date of the 29th.

«This», Solinas underlined, «is a meeting that brings together two very distinct topics: on the one hand, a purely technical and private matter, which concerns corporate dynamics, on the other, we talk about public interests and policies. As the highest political authority of this Region", he added, " I am interested in understanding, before going to discuss formal details with anyone, what is the common vision between the Sardinia Region and the Government with respect to the transport policies of such a large and distant island from the rest of the mainland of this country.'

One point was reiterated: that the Region «has given full willingness to carry out all possible insights and discussions, but will never give up governing, for the part that falls within its competence, the airport and transport policy of its region. For us, the right to mobility or accessibility of Sardinia that passes through the airports represents the prerequisite for any other development policy".

Moro also reiterated the need to postpone the meetings of the two Boards of Directors: «We need an ad hoc technical time for the working group set up last week by the Council to address aspects of the issues of the proposed merger to be able to evaluate all the documentation, and the Region is thus able to exercise their rights with awareness and through an important phase of study". Instead «taking the Region with the counter is unacceptable and is not respectful of the autonomistic institution. And it surprises us», concluded Moro, «that those who can count on first-rate institutional investors such as Cassa depositi e prestiti and Fondazione Sardegna do it».
