«A cyclogenesis downwind of the Alps is leading to the development of a Mediterranean cyclone that will affect the Italian regions for a few days».

The announcement comes from the Civil Protection of Sardinia, which has issued a warning for wind and storm surges valid until 11.59pm tomorrow, Monday 23 December.

"From today's afternoon (December 22) , winds are expected from the western quadrants, strengthening and rotating towards the northwest as the hours pass. On the western coast, on the northern coast and in the mountain areas", is the warning, "the winds will reach average values up to a gale and gusts up to a storm. During the day tomorrow (December 23), the intensity of the wind will be progressively decreasing, starting from the north".

During the evening today, the note continues, «we will also see an increase in wave motion with waves that during the night will exceed 6 meters (rough sea) in the Sardinian Sea . The storm surges will affect the Sardinian Sea, the Gulf of Asinara and the area of the Strait of Bonifacio.
