The investigation by the Sassari Prosecutor's Office into the alleged diversion of resources intended for the Diocese of Ozieri and used by the Spes social cooperative, led by Antonino Becciu, began three years ago and the investigations were closed in January 2024: « The vicious circle is worrying carried out with the letter rogatory which saw the Vatican and Italian procedures intersect and which in fact led to a systematic violation of the rights of some of those under investigation in the proceedings , insistently and illegitimately summoned by the Vatican Tribunal to give testimony, in that trial, on the same facts subject of the Sardinian investigation, without respecting the rogatory rules, and yet sanctioned because they did not appear", explains Iai.
