The first Mandas winery was born from the dream of four brothers. In Trexenta, in the heart of golden wheat-growing hills, where vineyards boast an ancient tradition, the Deidda family opened the Tenute Deidda winery: nearly four hectares of quality vineyards and a restored building in the historic center where they transform the grapes into wine.

By 2026, 5,000 bottles will be on the market: a sign that the gamble has paid off. Davide, Claudio, Alessandro, and Valeria's dream has come true.

"What we're doing was probably written in our destiny," says Davide, a lifelong mechanic. "In 2018, our father Mario passed away. He was the one who cultivated the fields and ran the business. We had other jobs and other passions, but in that moment of suffering, we thought it would be nice to save his work and build on his sacrifices to create something even greater."

That's when the dream of a winery with the Deidda brand was born. "We wanted to continue our father's work and develop something that spoke of him and our land," the brothers explain. From a purely bureaucratic standpoint, the head of the company is Davide, 45, the eldest brother who, before moving from the grease of engines to the rows of vines, successfully completed a course in viticulture and enology. Production and sales strategies are developed within the family, taking into account each member's skills to grow the company.

Claudio, 33, an architect, designs bottles and labels. "In the world of winemaking, aesthetics have become fundamental in the ability to tell stories, evoke emotions, and communicate a company's most authentic values," he explains.

Valeria (40, accountant) and Alessandro (35, surveyor) lend a hand however they can, using their specific professional skills, which have so far proven particularly useful when balancing the books or managing complex land registry procedures.

Tenute Deidda's mission is to combine innovation and tradition , steering a course that respects nature's rhythms and focuses on eco-sustainable practices and methods, which have earned the company the prestigious Oscar Green for viticulture. They were also extremely satisfied with their second place (out of 120 wineries) in the Barbagia di Seulo-Sarcidano wine competition.

Overseeing the product's quality are two external professionals: technician Laore Orazio Locci and winemaker Luca Congiu, who, step by step, have seen the Deidda family's dream come true. Five labels are currently on the market: the pure Cannonau rosé "Lugori," the Vermentino with a small percentage of Malvasia "Antonina" (named after the Deidda brothers' maternal and paternal grandmothers), the red Cannonau with Bovale and a hint of San Giovasse "Jenna," the Barbera Sardo plus Monica "Aredeu" (a superior bottle), and the pure Moscato "Trigu." These bottles, already present in various wine shops and restaurants in Sardinia, have recently crossed the Tyrrhenian Sea to land in Rome and Turin. The adventure has just begun, but it already smells of the future.
