High school students in improvised Sardinian poetry class . This morning they were the protagonists of a conference that took place in the Auditorium of the Galilei High School in Macomer , presented by the municipal administrators of Silanus, as part of the «Nois 2022-Sa Poesia Cantada» project.

The students of the fourth and fifth grades , with the school principal and teachers, followed the report of Chiara Cocco, an expert in the Sardinian language and improvised Sardinian singing, then they spoke with the improvising poets, Giuseppe Porcu and Dionigi Bitti.

A poetic competition, which was performed as if they were on stage at a village festival. An intense debate to which the students did not escape, but became real protagonists.

«An important day for Sardinian culture - says the mayor of Silanus, Gian Pietro Arca - with an initiative that has a dual objective: to enhance the Sardinian language and improvised Sardinian singing as a privileged instrument for conveying culture and, at the same time, to pass on to the new generations the art of poetry in Bolu, involving them in useful activities to preserve and enhance it».

The head teacher of the high school, Professor Gavina Cappai, was satisfied: «This event requires us to welcome other initiatives of this kind».

An important day realized as part of an ambitious program of promotion and enhancement of the Sardinian language and improvised singing in rhyme. For the students it was a great opportunity to get to know and deepen their roots and approach the great historical, cultural and poetic heritage of Sardinia.
