A fire was set inside the CPR, the migrant center in Macomer . A dense cloud of acrid smoke invaded the town around 1pm, triggering the alarm and calling for the riot police and firefighters to intervene.

Most likely some guests responded to the incitements of some anti-CPR activists , about fifteen in total, who arrived in Macomer just after 12.30, walking along a closed road and hiding among the trees, behind the centre, armed with megaphones, and shouted slogans and appeals that were heard inside: «We are with you, you are not alone, we will help you ».

The response from some CPR guests was immediate. Probably (the news is fragmentary), incited by the demonstrators, they put mattresses together and set fire . A column of black smoke thickened in the surrounding countryside, making the air unbreathable. The area was closed to traffic and onlookers were removed. The demonstrators, anti-CPR activists, were identified by the police and then accompanied out of Macomer.
