A 21-year prison sentence was requested today in the Assize Court in Cagliari by prosecutor Nicola Giua Marassi against the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Luca Mameli, 35 years old from Capoterra, stabbed on the Poetto seafront in Quartu on 9 August 2023 after a drinking contest between two groups of young people leaving a disco at dawn, and who died shortly after being taken to hospital.

According to the prosecution, the one who struck the victim in the chest was Alessio Desogus, 23 years old from Flumini di Quartu , present this morning in the courtroom, where he was hugged by his mother. The trial is in its final stages: the sentence is expected for next January 27th.

Mameli's sister, Sara, was hoping for a verdict already today . She wrote it in a long post on her public Facebook profile in which she vented ( READ THE POST ): "I feel so disgusted, I can't describe it." we read on the social network, where she takes it out on the defense because they are trying to minimize what happened.
