A 79-year-old man, Antonio Pisu, a construction contractor, was shot dead in his house in Monserrato. The murder took place today, around 10.30, in via Agricola 52. The alleged perpetrator, Luigi Piras, 75, has already been stopped by the police.

The two had a violent quarrel which then degenerated and Piras would have fired at least one gunshot reaching the victim in the chest.

On the spot, the agents of the Volante and the investigators of the Flying Squad.

Pisu had gone up to the upstairs apartment to ask the tenant, to whom he had rented the house, when he would leave it as an executive eviction for non-payment was pending. Piras, according to what emerged, had not paid the rent for eight years and this circumstance was a reason for quarrels and disagreements with the owner, as also happened this morning.

The alleged killer was stopped by the victim's family before the police arrived.
