In the Sardinian countryside, anger is about to explode . Again. The shepherds can't take it anymore: promised rewards that never arrived, increasingly serious emergencies and the Region that, instead of lending a hand, seems to turn its back.

"It is an unsustainable situation, the desperation in the companies is tangible", denounces Gianuario Falchi, one of the spokespersons of the Pastori Senza Bandiera movement, who announces a decisive assembly on March 15 at 10:30 in Tramatza to discuss all the problems that afflict the sector.

But at the heart of the protest is a system of aid that doesn't work : "The prizes that should have arrived in November are still not visible. We waited until now and still nothing. With emergencies like the blue tongue and the drought, they should have brought them forward, instead all is silent", accuses Falchi.

For the shepherds, the promises of a change of direction compared to the previous Regional Council have turned out to be an illusion : "Not only has the pace not changed, but it has even worsened," underlines one of the leaders of the movement. In the meantime, while the money is slow to arrive, the company deadlines are unforgiving: "Fixed payments arrive on time, but with this crisis it is almost impossible to sustain them."

The Tramatza assembly will therefore be important because the world of the countryside will decide together what to do : "We are exasperated, patience is over. And a massive mobilization is not at all to be excluded".
