The flames developed in the highly populated area of Maccia Crabili
Large fire on the outskirts of Sassari . The fire is affecting the area of Maccia Crabili , a portion of countryside within the hamlet of La Landrigga. The flames were reported around 1pm and developed in a short time.
The firefighters, four barracelli units, the Forest Service and two civil protection helicopters arrived on the spot. The latter carried out several spills of water taken from a nearby basin.
At the moment, the firefighters report, the fire is limited and under control but its complete extinction will take some time.
As far as is known, no injuries were recorded, but the fear was great given the populousness of both Maccia Crabili and the other attacked fraction, Caffè Roma .
No hypothesis, at present, on the origin of the episode on which the Forestale is investigating.
