Intimidating writings against Davide Burchi. The 46-year-old mayor of Lanusei was the recipient of messages written on the wall leading to Sa Serra, a town on the outskirts of the town.

In office for the second term in a row, Burchi is a lawyer of the Lanusei Court, the first body to express solidarity with his colleague who was the victim of intimidation.

«This is a serious act of intimidation - writes the Order, chaired by Vito Cofano - committed against a high institutional representative who, we are convinced, will not allow himself to be influenced in carrying out his duties and will continue to work with great commitment and sense of responsibility for the good of the citizens of Lanusei. It is unacceptable that even today we witness these acts of intimidation against those who, every day, represent, with their backs straight, the safeguard of legality in the territories. We hope that the investigators will be able to bring to justice those responsible for this disconcerting gesture which must be condemned with force, firmness and full agreement."

In a particularly difficult moment "for our territory and administrations at all levels, it is more necessary than ever for institutions and civil society to join forces in fighting all forms of crime and in defending the value of legality on a daily basis".

«Another very serious act of intimidation against a mayor, the first representative of the institutions in the area, at work, on the front line, for the good of his community», is the comment on the incident by the outgoing governor of the Region Christian Solinas . «I express – adds the president – to the mayor of Lanusei, Davide Burchi, my personal solidarity and that of all the Sardinian people for the insults and threats received . The cowardly action will not stop the courageous work of the administrators of our municipalities. I hope that those responsible for criminal acts will soon be brought to justice."
