Five families from Desulo will have to leave their homes in the Issiria neighborhood, in particular in via Lamarmora, due to landslides. There are a total of ten people against whom the executive order issued by the mayor Giovanni Melis will be in force.

Already last July the mayor had signed a first document but some families remained in their homes waiting to find a new accommodation.

Landslides is a problem that dates back to the 1980s but in recent months it has become increasingly present with cracks in buildings that for experts would be difficult to repair.

“I wrote to the Region to the Ministry of Public Works and to the various competent bodies - said the mayor -, in order to ensure funds that can solve the housing emergency problems for these people who would go into the street. Having to evacuate as a precaution, we must find other houses and pay them a rent pending access to the funds set up in these situations to ensure them a decent and risk-free home ".

“We are consulting professionals of the geologist to understand if and how to intervene on shale soils - concludes Melis -, but it will be an operation that takes time. Now we have to take care of settling families in difficulty. "
