An order from the mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzu also arrived to eliminate the Bonaria landfill. But the recipient of the measure was untraceable. And the cleanup was never carried out.

This was communicated by the Legal Intervention Group in relation to what environmentalists define as a "small land of fires" in Via Milano. This is a growing accumulation of various waste (debris, packaging, furniture, used batteries, etc.) including asbestos (eternit), partly in a fenced area and partly adjacent.

Over time, waste fires have been carried out, with inevitable effects on the environment and public health. Some people live a stone's throw away - explains Grig - while the entire area is densely inhabited.

Without success, so far four requests have been forwarded by the association to obtain the necessary environmental remediation and the preparation of a minimum level of control (also with video surveillance systems) to avoid further environmental and health damage. The Municipality of Cagliari, the Forestry and Environmental Surveillance Corps, the Municipal Police, the Cagliari Local Health Authority, the Noe Carabinieri were involved, and the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office was informed.
