In La Maddalena, the presentation of two novels by the writer and poet from La Maddalena Domenico Battaglia is scheduled for this Saturday , March 25, in the council hall at 5.30 pm: Fiore d'agretta and L'adori du mari .

Battaglia has been experimenting with the island dialect for years, with a high production of both prose and poetry, achieving numerous literary awards . The two books that will be presented, says the publisher Paolo Sorba, «are part of a series that we are curating , with a dialectal text and an Italian translation . They are part of an operation to enhance, maintain and protect the Maddalena dialect which, if there were no written trace, would be lost. By producing publications by authors such as Domenico Battaglia, Tonino Conti, Giancarlo Tusceri, who write correctly in dialect, we aim precisely for its correct conservation».

The two novels are set in an island context (or largely). Therefore, says Sorba, they have "a double value: on the one hand linguistically, on the other they have the task of telling local stories". The two publications will be presented by Piero Bardanzellu «journalist, expert on the Gallurese and Maddalena dialect and language, who has always fought against the attempt at homologation to establish a common Sardinian language» and Gian Luca Moro , «a person of great culture, official of the Museo Garibaldino di Caprera, with which, among other things, I am curating a work, a book on Garibaldi or the translation of a book by an English author on Garibaldi, soon to be published».
