This morning in the great hall of the Nautical Institute, the management of the La Maddalena National Park awarded scholarships to 10 students.

Last January, the Park launched a call for scholarships for deserving students of the Giuseppe Garibaldi Institute of Higher Education.

The students had to present a paper where, starting from a photograph of the local catch, they had to describe what they observed and then focus their attention on a fish species, describing its ecology, life habits, conservation and/or protection rules with personal reflections.

After analyzing the 35 documents received, the Park published the ranking of the 10 winners who were awarded 1,500 euros gross of withholding taxes. The purpose of the Park initiative is to raise awareness and ensure the active participation of local students on issues related to biodiversity. This is not an isolated initiative but, as the director of the institution, Giulio Plastina said, the same initiative will be undertaken in the next few years.
