The fate of the Alivesi hospital in Ittiri , one of the jewels of the Sassarese health care, is destined. It was closed by the Local Health Authority and the Region on August 30, 2021. A closure that, according to the Regional Health Councilor Mario Nieddu, must have been temporary, since the staff of the health facility had gone to reinforce the Covid ward in Alghero.

But since that day, and almost 11 months have passed, the doors of Alivesi have remained closed, in particular those of the long-term care department, which has always been an excellence. The violent protests of the municipal administration of Ittiri and neighboring ones, as well as the demonstrations of citizens and trade unions, were of no use. Also organized open municipal councils. In one of these, in November, the commissioner Nieddu had publicly promised an imminent reopening. Which hasn't materialized yet.

"We are embittered and we have done everything possible for the reopening of our hospital - comments the mayor Antonio Sau -. It is now a story bordering on the paradoxical that penalizes the whole territory. Almost eleven months of unfulfilled promises. However, we do not resign ourselves. We will continue to fight and if there is a need we will take sensational actions on the field '.
