Today at 12 and a few seconds later all the cell phones of the Sardinians started ringing . But fear not: no danger in sight . It was "simply" a simulation of It-alert , the new national public alarm system that the country is adopting to communicate in real time with all citizens in the event of imminent or ongoing emergencies.

On the screen of smartphones, a message - in Italian and English - informing users of the test in progress. Also associated with the notification is a ringtone that is different from the usual: a loud sound signal, specially designed for the occasion.

In the body of the text there is also a link with a questionnaire useful for reporting any problems encountered with the service. The alarm also came promptly during the daily management meeting with the heads of department of L'Unione Sarda.
