The CT scan at Isili hospital will no longer be operational next week. Too old, with obsolete technology: this is how Radiology is preparing to say goodbye to the machine, while waiting for a new one. Patients, in the meantime, will be diverted to the Santissima Trinità in Cagliari. All this while waiting for the new latest-generation machine, financed with Pnrr funds, to be ready for use.
As the hospital company explains in a note, it is " a latest-generation device capable of carrying out tests more quickly and precisely , with a view to modernising the company's technological park and in particular the peripheral hospital facilities".
Between the “retirement” of the old CT and the arrival of the new one, “a couple of months” will pass . A period that “will most likely create some discomfort for patients even if the Company is trying to minimize the problems as much as possible, implementing all the actions to define operational methods and paths. The Santissima Trinità hospital in Cagliari will support patients for all diagnostic activity, taking charge of patients who will be rescheduled for all the tests already planned. At the same time, the ASL n. 8 is evaluating the acquisition of a mobile CT capable of guaranteeing diagnostic and care continuity”.
