The Municipality of Quartu in recent years "has always maintained an open and dialoguing attitude" and has been "generous". Cagliari football, on the other hand, remained on «a total closure, especially now that it is preparing to receive an enormous amount of public funding for the construction of a new stadium in Cagliari».

The mayor Graziano Milia goes straight on Tommaso Giulini's company, who returns, with decision, to the dispute between the administration and the club concerning the expenses to put the Is Arenas stadium back on track. The one that, for a period, hosted the Rossoblù team, when Massimo Cellino was president: a Quartese adventure concluded between court and prison.

Since then, only rubble or almost. And there is no agreement on the money: the attempt at conciliation has failed, the court will decide.

«An outcome that surprises us and we regret», underlines Milia, «our administration did its best to reach a conciliation that would allow the dispute to be extinguished and the sports facility to be returned to the citizens of Quarto as soon as possible».

The Municipality has also made itself available "to accept the sums proposed by the Court expert, somewhat lower than the initial calculation, to put the grass soccer field back on track and the heavily deteriorated athletics track. The municipal administration had in fact proposed to the rossoblù club an agreement which provided for the waiver of more than 40 thousand euros for the restoration of the track (from 659 thousand to 618 thousand) and an even higher figure for the football field (from 450 thousand to 225 thousand). However, Cagliari Calcio did not consider this economic quantification acceptable».

Offer rejected with no counteroffer. «Quartu has been very generous with Cagliari Calcio, having given up for over 10 years on what is then as now one of its best structures», according to the mayor. Who adds: «It is surprising that in the face of the always open and dialoguing attitude maintained in recent years by the Municipality of Quartu, the sports club has perched in total closure, especially now that it is preparing to receive an enormous amount of funding public funds for the construction of a new stadium in Cagliari. We can't wait any longer: in the next hearing in March we will ask for a quick decision from the judge".
