Invested in via Poligono in Sassari, a man in red code

A 78-year-old pensioner was run over at around 7.30 pm in via Poligono , in Sassari , as he crossed at the intersection with via Baldedda.

The car, a Peugeot 208 driven by a 48-year-old man, was proceeding along the roadway when, at via Flumenargia, it violently hit the pedestrian crossing from the left, throwing him onto the asphalt several meters ahead.

In the impact, the elderly man lost consciousness and never recovered. The 118 paramedics arrived on the spot in a few minutes. The wounded man was transported to the Santissima Annunziata hospital in code red.
