«Given the numerous inconveniences expressed by the students, it was deemed appropriate to organize a protest for the days of 3 and 4 November 2023, to evaluate possible extensions».

This was communicated by the students of the Liceo Mariano IV of Arborea, to bring to the attention of the institutions the problems affecting both the central headquarters in Via Messina and the headquarters of the Frassinetti Institute, where 14 classes have been moved since the beginning of the year school due to the closure of the second floor of the headquarters for works.

The students explain: «In addition to the failure to fulfill the promise to return to the central headquarters by the month of October, which causes continuous inconvenience both to the students and to the professors and school staff forced to continually move between the two locations, the students report the following problems at the Frassinetti headquarters:

- unbearable smell caused by guano (also a carrier of diseases) which does not allow the windows to be opened. Students therefore find themselves forced to carry out 5 hours of lessons in hot and unventilated classrooms

- dozens of insects, such as flies, mosquitoes and ants, enter the classrooms, preventing lessons from taking place regularly;

- carrying out recreation in the external courtyard is impossible due to the bad smell coming from excrement and carcasses of dead animals on the ground

- the bathroom doors are often blocked, thus making the services unusable, and there is a lack of toilet paper

- given the delay in being transferred back to the headquarters, the lack of radiators will create great inconvenience with the arrival of low temperatures.

But, the students continue, "other problems are found at the structure in via Messina, still home to the renovation works which began in June and have not been completed". The list follows:

- only one girls' bathroom is accessible and has an uncovered ceiling

- the entrance door to the unusable bathroom for the girls fell down a few days ago, being unstable

- the children's bathroom lacks a lighting system

- here too the bathroom doors are often blocked, thus making them unusable, and there is a lack of toilet paper

- the second floor, subject to renovation works, is only partially accessible. In particular, 4 classrooms are located there, the access corridor is uncovered with visible beams and cables

«The representatives of the Institute – Giorgia Atzori, Giuseppe Luigi Facella, Alessandro Armando Pau – and the representatives of the Provincial Council, Elisa Cadau and Giorgia Atzori, are aware of the situation and support the protest», concludes the note.
