Practices are increasing while personnel are decreasing .

The INPS situation is worrying, particularly in Cagliari, with the CGIL Metropolitan Chamber of Labor which, together with the FP category, met with the heads of the provincial headquarters: "The lack of human resources - denounced the CGIL of Cagliari - has reached a level critical enough to reverberate not only on the workloads of the current staff but also on the very efficiency in the provision of services and services to citizens ".

The data from the latest INPS social report certify the net decline in the workforce: " From 2019 to 2021 the number of employees went from 814 to 698 at the regional level, in Cagliari from 216 to 191 - CGIL Sardegna announces -.   Some services, on the other hand, have definitely increased and, in any case, the amount of questions is conspicuous compared to the staff who must provide answers in a timely manner. For example, there has been a growth in services to combat poverty and social inclusion, with the former province of Cagliari concentrating 35.29 per cent of households receiving income and citizenship pensions. Furthermore, the hours of layoffs, both in 2020 and in 2021, are higher in Cagliari and South Sardinia than in the rest of the region: specifically, those of ordinary cash decreased less than in the rest of the island, while those of extraordinary cash , in contrast to all the other provinces, in Cagliari and South Sardinia they increased by 67.33 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year ".

At the meeting with the provincial INPS leaders, which was attended by the territorial confederal secretary Simona Fanzecco and the secretary of the Fp Cagliari Nicola Cabras, “ it was reiterated that the forecast of only forty hires throughout Sardinia cannot meet the needs . Not surprisingly, the national FP CGIL, already on 30 September had expressed strong concerns about the prospects relating to the detection of staff shortages of all the structures of the Institute, which appeared clearly underestimated, especially in some areas of the national territory ".

The CGIL of Cagliari " urged the leaders of the provincial institute to speak up for the problem at the highest levels and, in the meantime, during the meeting a commitment was made for a closer collaboration between the offices of the patronage and those INPS, increasing communication and exchange of information but also hypothesizing joint training courses for operators ".

"The crisis situation that characterizes the social and economic fabric of our territory cannot be separated from an adequate functioning of public services", said Simona Fanzecco and Nicola Cabras , underlining that "the activities carried out by INPS represent an essential part of the provision of services that are now essential for citizens in difficulty ". Hence the hope that the issue of staff shortages will be addressed and resolved as soon as possible.
