Yet another day of tension in the prison of Uta: the penitentiary police struggled to restore order and security inside the institute after an inmate threatened the staff and tried to attack the surveillance inspector with a razor blade .

The complaint comes from Luca Fais, regional secretary for Sardinia of the independent prison police union. «The spark - says the union leader - was the prisoner's refusal to transfer to another department of the prison. A move decided because it had destabilized the entire section in which it was located. The officers were good and courageous in disarming him of the razor blade he was holding but he continued with the threats with sticks made from breaking the furniture in the cell".

The prisoner, underlines Fais, "is not new to similar episodes and also for this reason Sappe returns to ask the offices of the Cagliari regional superintendency and the Dap for his transfer and effective interventions to protect personnel".

The situation in Uta is increasingly critical, adds Donato Capece, secretary general of Sappe, « the staff is less and less, also following these events now on the agenda. A summer of fire is therefore confirmed for the prison police personnel on duty ».
