He was with his disabled son in the shallow water of the sea of Porto Pino, on the coast of Sant'Anna Arresi , not far from the shore. The woman was maneuvering with the wheelchair when she ended up with her head under the surface and could no longer re-emerge.
Lifeguard Matteo Bachis, on duty at his post on the second beach, immediately noticed that there was a problem: he didn't hesitate for a moment and rescued her, bringing her back to shore.
The young man enlisted for sea rescue receives compliments from the Avpcsa (Volunteer Association for Civil Protection and Environmental Protection): "Fortunately, the woman is fine now," the association said. Like her, so is her son.
