In Selargius the spouses of Sa Coja were chosen
On Sunday 10 September, a saleswoman and a hairdresser will join in the rite of chains

There are the spouses, the real protagonists of Sa Coja. And the Municipality and the Pro Loco, the operational and organizational arm of the event, are also ready.
On Sunday 10 September, Valentina Plaitano, twenty-year-old shop assistant, and Lorenzo Atzeni, hairdresser, five years older, will swear eternal love with the rite of chains. And it will be the youngest couple in the history of the ceremony which recalls the ancient weddings of the past: " Since we were children we have wanted to be able to get married with this ancient rite, it is a great honor for us and also a privilege", says Valentina Plautano, who is unable to hold back the tears. Her future husband, Lorenzo Atzeni, says: «She made us meet her best friend, and we have never been separated since . It is a very important step but we are absolutely convinced despite someone almost calling us "crazy". But on the other hand, without a pinch of "madness" life would be monotonous».
In the morning, the official presentation in the council chamber, in the presence of the mayor, the entire council, the board of the Pro loco, the friends and family of the spouses. The mayor Gigi Concu did the honors of the house: «It is a real pleasure to see such a young and beautiful couple ready to get married and so tied to one of the most heartfelt and intimate traditions of our community», writes the mayor in a Note. «Their presence confirms that, contrary to those who questioned the realization of the event, the Antico Sposalizio will obviously be there again this year». And if for the councilor for Culture Oriana Bernardi "it will be an honor and a pleasant burden to accompany them on the path towards their new life", the historic president of the Pro loco Gianni Frau concludes: "We have a beautiful couple, two very motivated and attached young people to tradition, this fills us with pride. Today a journey begins for them which, as usual, will end on the second Sunday of September with the celebration of the rite. There will be various stages which, as per tradition, will bring the whole community to relive a page of the most ancient history of Selargius». The appointment is for September 10th.
